Sharing Holiday Happiness
All of us
at Reed understand that even though the holiday season is a joyous time of year,
it also can be stressful and financially burdensome. Over the years, several of our parents and
staff members have reached out to assist families in need through local charity
organizations. Although the
contributions were incredible and helped many families outside our district, we
continue to have parents and staff members asking how they can do more to help
families who attend the Ladue School District. As a result, we at Reed are making a school
wide initiative to help Ladue School District
families have a joyous holiday season.
Here
is how you can be involved:
1. Select a snowflake located
in the hallway next to the gym.
Snowflakes will be available starting December 5th. Each snowflake has one item that reflects
someone’s dreams (need or want off his/her wish list). Purchase the item and return it to Reed
unwrapped with the original snowflake by December 16th. The District Social Worker, Maxine Birdsong,
will deliver each item privately to the family. All names will remain confidential.
2. Volunteer to help organize
snowflakes and/or donations. Please contact Susan Gartenberg, (counselor),
Katie Ciorba (parent), Julie Higginbotham (parent), or Dr. Chris Schreiner (principal),
if you are interested in helping.
3. If your family would benefit
from holiday assistance from your “Reed Family”, please contact Maxine Birdsong
and/or Susan Gartenberg.
Thank
you so much for supporting our community!
